Granted, just two schools have been responsible for the state's appearances - Michigan State and Michigan. The Spartans have made it to the Final Four ten times. The Wolverines have technically made it to the Final Four eight times; however, the school's appearances in 1992 and 1993 were later vacated after the NCAA determined that a major booster had made illegal payments to a handful of former Wolverine athletes over the course of several years.
