The Detroit Red Wings signed future Hall of Famer Patrick Kane (pictured) on Tuesday to a one-year deal with a $2.75 million Average Annual Value (AAV). Because Kane is signing 1/4 of the way through the season, he will get just over $2 million from the Wings.
Another season of high school football is in the books. And while we wanted so badly for it to happen, it just wasn't meant to be for Mason to win the state title. As the Bulldogs lost to Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central in Sunday's Division 3 final, 27-10, at Ford Field in Detroit.
The 44-year-old has a reputation for developing physical, balanced, and explosive offenses along with aggressive and confounding defenses. But his career record is below .500, and he didn't turn in his first winning season with Oregon State until his fourth year.
Even though Mason has been a stellar program for years, it's their first-ever trip to the state finals in football. Congratulations to head coach Gary Houghton, his staff, and all the players for that great accomplishment.
