Can the Detroit Lions Rebound After Thanksgiving Loss?

It has been eight seasons since the Detroit Lions last made the National Football League playoffs.
The Lions are on a 10-game playoff losing streak and it's been over 30 years since they last won a playoff game, 32 to be exact. Their last postseason win was Jan. 5, 1992, a 38-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
They last captured an NFL Championship in 1957 and have never won a Super Bowl.
It's been a long wait, but the eight-year playoff drought seems almost a lock to be over.
Yes, the Lions lost on Thanksgiving Day, but they are still in a good position to make a return to the playoffs, leading the NFC North with an 8-3 record, two games ahead of Green Bay in the division race.
Going into the final stretch of the season, Detroit is still in line to win the NFC North, and still has a shot at the No. 1 seed in the NFC – and home field throughout the playoffs that comes with it.
Right now, at the DraftKings sportsbook, the Lions are –600 to make the playoffs and Detroit’s current win total is set at 11.5, which has a good chance to hit the over. There was plenty of preseason hype around the Lions, but they have been able to show that it was warranted.
As we flip the calendar to December, the Lions should be able to hold on to the NFC North, even after their disappointing Thanksgiving loss and capture their first division championship since 1993.
Detroit has games at New Orleans, at Chicago, home against Denver, at Minnesota, at Dallas and home against Minnesota to close out the season. That’s four road games over their final six games – no easy task for any team.
Ten wins would almost certainly be enough to get into the NFC playoffs this season. So, with eight wins as we head to December, they should find a way to get two more wins the rest of the way and at the very least make the NFC playoff field.
If they make the playoffs, what are their odds to win the NFC with heavyweights like Philadelphia, San Francisco and Dallas battling them? What are the odds for them to do something they have never done and win the Super Bowl? Currently, at ESPN Bet sportsbook and other betting apps in Michigan they have the seventh shortest odds at +1300.
It might be a bit soon for them to go from all the losing seasons right to winning a Super Bowl, but there is plenty of value right now on Detroit if you want to jump on them now at most sportsbooks.
