Competitive Eater to Raise Money for Charity Tonight in Detroit
The Pistons will be raising money for charity tonight with help from a competitive eater.
Competitive eater, Joey Chestnut, will be at Little Caesars Arena tonight as the Pistons take on the Miami Heat. Chestnut will be the halftime entertainment tonight during the game and will be up against the world-famous Coney Dog to raise money for charity.
At the game tonight, Joey Chestnut and the Piston will raise money for Forgotten Harvest. The current world hot dog eating record holder will be eating coneys and for every dog he eats, the donation amount will go up.
Earlier today, Chestnut had a chance to meet all of the players and do a little eating warm up before tonight's challenge. The Pistons were cheering him on to see how many wings he could eat in three minutes and thirteen seconds. Find out how many in the video below.
For those that don't know, Joey Chestnut is a savage in the competitive eating world. This 39-year-old beast was born in Westfield, Indiana. In 2007, Chestnut beat reigning champ Takeru Kobayashi at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest and held that title for eight years straight. In 2022, he won that same title for the 15th time in his career.
Currently, Joey Chestnut holds 55 different world records in 55 disciplines. Some of his records include:
- 182 chicken wings in 30 minutes
- 141 hard boiled eggs in eight minutes
- 126 tacos in eight minutes
- 81 waffles in eight minutes
- See all the records here.
Good luck against the coney dogs tonight Joey!
