Catch A Train To Watch CMU Take on New Hampshire This Weekend
Central Michigan University fans can consider themselves lucky because this weekend they have the chance to tailgate on a caboose... literally.
It's the Central Michigan “Chippewas” vs. New Hampshire “Wildcats” showdown! For this week's match up against the Wildcats, CMU fans will have the option to catch a train from Owosso to the game and leave their cars behind. Sounds pretty cool, right?
CMU fans will embark on a 3-hour journey powered by a diesel train to and from Central Michigan University, which several options available for how you'd like to enjoy your ride.
If you're riding the Maroon and Gold Express, you have two choices on what you can do once you arrive in Mt. Pleasant: You can ride the train to CMU and catch the football game with a package that includes a football ticket.
Alternatively, you can also stay on the train and disembark at Mountain Town Station for a delightful lunch and shopping experience before heading back to CMU for the return trip to Owosso.
If you're interested, the train will be departing Owosso at 9am on Saturday, September 9th from the Steam Railroading Institute and will arrive in Mt. Pleasant in time for the 1:30PM kick off.
Shuttle buses will be available to transport guests back to the stadium every half hour, starting at 2:30 pm, with the last shuttle bus departing at 4:30 pm.
Organizers ask you to note that if you miss the last shuttle bus, you've missed the train. Don't let that happen, because an Uber back to Owosso is probably pretty expensive.
